As a textile print designer with a 40-year career in the fashion industry, I have always been drawn to the interplay of colors, textures and patterns, especially when they are melded together into one cohesive compilation. Over the years, I have amassed a rich assortment of printed and vintage patterns and current designs. and have currently begun devoting my creative energy into channeling this extensive experience and vast collection into creating mixed media collages. These collages are more than just an amalgamation of different materials and patterns; they are a sometimes-chaotic blend of traditional surface design with contemporary figurative forms. As an artist, I find inspiration in the vibrancy of city life especially the richness of different cultures I’ve experienced through my travels or of the simplicity of people watching. These elements serve as a constant source of ideas for my whatever work I create or medium I experiment with. Through my art, I invite viewers to explore the intricate landscapes of these images and to discover stories sometimes hidden within.
